## Synopsis

Just Beyond (2021) is an American family anthology series created by Seth Grahame-Smith for Disney+. Its eight half-hour episodes each introduce a fresh cast of young characters who stumble into a reality just beyond the everyday, where witches, aliens, ghosts and parallel universes intrude on ordinary lives. Mckenna Grace (Veronica), Leeann Ross (Claire Driscoll), Nasim Pedrad (Miss Genevieve), Gabriel Bateman (Jack) and Henry Thomas (Crazy Chris) appear across the stories, though each episode centers its own protagonist and plot. The engine of every story is a surprising journey of self-discovery, as a character must confront an uncanny situation and find out who they really are. The format is brisk and self-contained, so viewers can start anywhere. The tone stays light, playful and accessible, with spooky wonder rather than real dread. Its mix of kids' adventure and gentle spookiness places it in the vein of Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and fans of Black Mirror-style anthologies will find a lighter, younger counterpart here. Set in a present-day American world that is slightly askew, it suits families looking for a short, imaginative watch.
