## Synopsis

The New Adventures of Superman (1966-1968) is an American animated superhero series created by Lou Scheimer for CBS, produced by Filmation. Bud Collyer voices Clark Kent and Superman, with Joan Alexander as Lois Lane and Jack Grimes as Jimmy Olsen, and a bench of familiar radio and television performers including Ted Knight, Janet Waldo, Bob Hastings and Jackson Beck filling out the supporting cast. Across three seasons and sixty-eight episodes, each story is a compact six-minute adventure in which the Man of Steel confronts criminals, mad scientists, monsters and natural disasters, always returning to the mild-mannered reporter's disguise and the newsroom at the Daily Planet. The engine is simple and reliable: a threat rises, Superman's powers are tested, and virtue wins before the segment ends. The shorts were bundled into larger broadcast blocks alongside other DC Comics heroes, which gives the series a distinct Saturday morning rhythm. Its limited mid-century animation, bright primary colors and wholesome heroic optimism make it a gentle, nostalgic watch. Fans of Batman: The Animated Series, The Super Powers Team and Superman: The Animated Series will find a shared appetite for classic comic book heroism, though this earlier version is far lighter and more straightforward in tone.
