## Synopsis

The Tourist (2022-2024) is a British-produced mystery thriller series created by Jack Williams and Harry Williams for BBC One, running two seasons of six episodes each. Jamie Dornan plays Elliot Stanley, a man who wakes in the Australian outback with no memory and only a few scraps of clues to his identity, while Danielle Macdonald plays Helen Chambers, a probationary constable whose path crosses his. Each season builds its story around the tense hunt for who he was and why his past is closing in, as dangerous pursuers, sudden roadside confrontations and dead-end leads push him across vast, sun-bleached landscapes. The tone mixes bleak suspense with flashes of dark comedy and warm chemistry between the leads, and the wide outback photography gives the chase a lonely, dusty scale. Fans of Top of the Lake and the amnesia-driven Bourne Identity will find resonance in its blend of rural Australian menace and a stranger's fractured self. Set in the present day, the series is a serialized thriller where each episode tightens the net, and viewers are drawn by the mystery of a man who does not know his own name.
