## Synopsis

The New Scooby-Doo Movies (1972-1973) is a American Saturday morning animated mystery comedy created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for CBS. Its gang of Scooby-Doo (voiced by Don Messick), Fred Jones (Frank Welker), Velma (Nicole Jaffe) and Daphne (Heather North) travels to strange locales to solve a mystery in each episode, and the fun comes from a case-of-the-week engine in which a suspicious spook turns out to be a costumed human crook. This two-season run doubles the length of its predecessor's episodes to about forty minutes, which gives the chases and comic scares more room to breathe. Each installment adds a rotating special guest star, from celebrities to famous fictional characters, who joins the gang for the investigation and shakes up the usual rhythm.
