## Synopsis

The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends (1992-1995) is a British-Japanese animated family anthology series created by Colin Towns, Dianne Jackson, John Coates and Dennis Abey for BBC One. Adapting nine stories from Beatrix Potter's picture books, it follows Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, Johnny Town-Mouse and their woodland neighbours as they slip into trouble in gardens, farms and village lanes. Peter's disobedience in Mr. McGregor's vegetable patch is the recurring engine, with each episode built around a small mishap, a clever escape or a modest lesson about manners and consequences. Niamh Cusack appears as Beatrix Potter herself, framing the stories with a gentle reverence for the source books, while voice performers including Hugh Laurie, June Whitfield, Richard Wilson and Ian Holm bring the animal and human characters to life. Each episode runs about twenty-five minutes and stands alone, so viewers can dip in at any point. The tone is soft, pastoral and cozy, with a storybook warmth. Fans of The Wind in the Willows, Paddington and Bagpuss will find similar comfort in its countryside charm and gentle humor. Nine episodes make up the single season.
