## Synopsis

Koala Man (2023) is an American adult animated superhero spoof series created by Michael Cusack for Hulu. Cusack voices Kevin Williams, an average suburban father who lives a not-so-secret second life as Koala Man, a powerless vigilante burning to stamp out petty crime in his Australian suburb. His ambitions keep colliding with ordinary family life, with his wife Vicky Williams voiced by Sarah Snook and his daughter Alison Williams voiced by Demi Lardner often unimpressed by his crusade. Hugh Jackman voices Big Greg, a neighbourhood figure who adds to the comic friction. The engine of the show is the mismatch between a grand self-image and mundane reality, as each short episode of about twenty-four minutes sends the hero after small local offences that grow absurd through his earnest overconfidence. The series is a single eight-episode season with a crude, irreverent register, sharp satire of superhero conventions, and a deadpan affection for its characters. Fans of Invincible, The Boys and Bob's Burgers will find resonance in its blend of adult animation, domestic comedy and superhero parody.
