## Synopsis

A Man Who Defies the World of BL (2021-present) is a Japanese television comedy-drama series produced by FINE Entertainment and TV Asahi and broadcast on tv asahi, ABC TV and Lemino. Adapted from a manga, it follows Mob, a university student who wants nothing to do with the romantic storylines unfolding around him, and who tries hard to stay in the background. Atsuhiro Inukai plays Mob, with Yutaro as Ayato and Asahi Ito as Kikuchi, both of whom find their lives tangled in unwanted attraction. The engine of the show is simple: Mob keeps trying to remain a bystander while love keeps finding him, and each episode turns on awkward triangles, jealousy and friendship. Playful and self-aware, the series gently satirizes the conventions of boys love storytelling, often speaking directly to the viewer. Across four seasons and thirty-eight episodes of roughly twenty-five minutes, its light, slice of life rhythm keeps the mood breezy and affectionate. Fans of Wandering Mind, Given and Kiss Me First will find resonance in its campus setting, genre parody and warm take on romance.
