## Synopsis

Snow Angels (2021) is a Swedish national-television nordic noir miniseries created by Mette Heeno and broadcast on SVT1. Across six hour-long episodes, experienced police officer Alice (Eva Melander) works through a case that begins when five-week-old Lukas vanishes from his home two days before Christmas. Her engine is a search for the truth in a investigation where the parents' stories keep shifting, and every interview and household detail becomes a possible crack in the account. The cast also includes Josefin Asplund as Jennie, Ardalan Esmaili as Salle, Mattias Nordkvist as Patrik and Cecilia Nilsson as Kajsa, whose intersecting lives draw the community into the investigation. The series is a single continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format, built around mounting suspicion and emotional strain. Its setting is a modern Sweden under a heavy snowstorm, where roads close, houses go quiet, and the holiday season amplifies the grief. The tone is cold, sombre and suspenseful, with a slow-burning dread and a focus on fractured family bonds. Fans of The Killing, Broadchurch and Fortitude will find resonance in its bleak atmosphere and patient detective work.
