## Synopsis

Sonic X (2003-2009) is a Japanese animated action-adventure series created for TV Tokyo and produced by TMS Entertainment, based on the Sega video game franchise. Its premise follows Sonic the Hedgehog (Jun'ichi Kanemaru), who is stranded on Earth and teams up with 12-year-old Chris Thorndyke (Sanae Kobayashi) to hunt down the Chaos Emeralds before the scheming Dr. Eggman can use them. Alongside Tails (Ryo Hirohashi), Amy Rose (Taeko Kawata) and Knuckles the Echidna (Nobutoshi Canna), the group races through episodic adventures where each season builds toward gathering more emeralds while Eggman's robotic schemes escalate. The engine is light and continuous: a kid's wish to help a lost hero, friends bickering and rallying, and a villain who keeps underestimating them. Spanning three seasons and seventy-eight episodes, it moves at a brisk, colorful clip with bright slapstick, earnest friendship, and playful action. Fans of Pokémon, Digimon Adventure and the Sega-era Sonic cartoons will find a familiar, cheerful kids' anime with a bit of video game energy.
