## Synopsis

The Wild Wild West (1965-1969) is an American network adventure series created by Michael Garrison for CBS, blending a classic western with spy-thriller gadgetry. Robert Conrad plays James T. West, a rugged Secret Service agent, and Ross Martin plays Artemus Gordon, his inventive partner who excels at disguises and mechanical contrivances. Across four seasons and 104 fifty-minute episodes, the duo protects President Ulysses Grant and foils the schemes of eccentric villains who plot to seize parts of the United States. Each episode is a self-contained case built around a rogue's sinister device, a daring rescue, or an elaborate disguise, giving the show a brisk, case-of-the-week shape. The setting is post civil war America, rendered with dusty trains, saloons, and mansion hideouts. The tone is playful and theatrical, with tongue-in-cheek humor sitting beside gunfights and fistfights. Fans of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Maverick will find much of the same spirited, gadget-driven fun here.
