## Synopsis

Happy End (2021) is a Russian comedy-drama miniseries created by Alexey Kiselev for more.tv and Wink. Across eight episodes of roughly thirty-five minutes each, a young couple, Lera (Elena Tronina) and Vlad (Denis Vlasenko), decides to broadcast their relationship as a sexual performance through a webcam for an audience of strangers. Supporting roles from Max (Aleksandr Gorchilin), Polina (Lyubov Tolkalina) and Edik (Daniil Vorobyov) pull the couple into the money, jealousy and social pressure that the online project brings. The engine is the escalating gap between what the couple wants to show the world and what they actually feel, with each episode built around a new webcam scheme, a new audience reaction and a new strain on their friendships. Set in contemporary Russia, the series is a single-season limited run that treats its premise with frank, uncomfortable humour, sitting in the tradition of adult-themed youth comedy. Its tone is brash, awkward and occasionally melancholic, and its themes of exhibitionism, intimacy and self-worth are handled with a cringe-comedy edge. Fans of Girls, Euphoria and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will find resonance in its frank treatment of young adult sexuality and online life.
