## Synopsis

Rawhide (1959-1965) is an American network western drama created for CBS. Trail boss Gil Favor (Eric Fleming) leads a crew of cowhands driving herds across the frontier, and his restless young foreman Rowdy Yates (Clint Eastwood) is the energy at his side. Across eight seasons and more than two hundred episodes, each week brings a new stretch of trail, a new river crossing, a new stranger and a new problem to solve, with the drive itself as the through line. Trail hands such as Wishbone (Paul Brinegar) and Pete Nolan (Sheb Wooley) round out the crew, and the episodes lean on the rhythms of wagon camps, dust, weather and cattle that must be kept moving toward market. The tone is wholesome and sturdy, a classic frontier adventure with plenty of drama and camaraderie rather than grit. Fans of Bonanza, The Virginian and Lonesome Dove will find the same mix of open-range landscapes, loyal partnerships and episodic trail adventure here. Its gentle, earnest register makes it an easy watch for families and anyone who loves the old west on television.
