## Synopsis

The Sound of Magic (2022) is a South Korean fantasy drama series created by Ha Il-kwon for Netflix. Across a single six-episode season of roughly sixty-nine minutes each, it follows an enigmatic magician who lives in an abandoned amusement park and steps into the life of a high schooler buried under harsh realities and mounting debt. Ji Chang-wook plays Lee Eul, the mysterious conjuror whose illusions offer a fragile escape, while Choi Sung-eun plays Yun Ah-yi, a student whose ordinary world is pressed tight by money trouble and family strain. Hwang In-youp appears as Na Il-deung, and Chi Hae-won as Baek Ha-Na, both drawn into the orbit of the magician's tricks. The engine of the story is the tension between the glamour of magic and the grinding weight of everyday hardship, with each episode mixing melodrama, quiet mystery and musical flourishes. The mood is melancholic and speculative, with frantic bursts of unease running beneath the wonder. Set in a contemporary Korean city, the series offers a dreamlike, bittersweet take on growing up. Fans of Goblin and Sweet Home will find resonance in its blend of Korean melodrama and supernatural intrigue.
