## Synopsis

Dom (2021-2024) is a Brazilian crime drama series created by Breno Silveira for Prime Video. Veteran Rio de Janeiro police officer Victor Dantas (Flávio Tolezani) has spent his career fighting cocaine trafficking, while his son Pedro Dom (Gabriel Leone) has become a drug addict and one of the city's most wanted burglars. The engine of the show is the collision between a father's duty and a son's self-destruction: Victor hunts the trade that has taken hold of his own family, and Pedro moves through the same criminal circuits, stealing to feed his habit while others close in around him. Across three seasons spanning twenty-one episodes, the story unfolds as a serialized saga in which each episode carries the tension of raids, stolen goods, debts and pursuit through the favelas and city streets. Shot with gritty realism, the series is built on a tense, desperate register, mixing harrowing addiction scenes with the emotional pull of a father trying to reach a child who keeps slipping away. Its atmosphere of police corruption and urban danger is rooted in the war on drugs. Fans of Narcos and Tropa de Elite will find resonance in its brutal street-level portrait of Rio, and viewers of Breaking Bad will recognise its study of a man's moral unraveling.
