## Synopsis

The Smurfs (2021-present) is a Belgian animated family comedy series created for La Trois, a modern 3d reboot of the classic Franco-Belgian comic characters created by Peyo. Papa Smurf (Jean-Loup Horwitz) leads a village of tiny blue creatures, each with a distinct name and personality, including Smurfette (Anna Ramade), Brainy Smurf, Jokey Smurf, and Hefty Smurf. The engine of the show is the daily life of this close community, where small mishaps and everyday problems arise from each Smurf's quirks, and the ever-scheming wizard Gargamel (Emmanuel Curtil) repeatedly threatens their peace with his plots to catch them. Episodes are brief, self-contained adventures built around friendship, teamwork, and simple lessons, so the series works well as a gentle watch for children. The show runs across three seasons with a steady stream of short episodes, and its story unfolds in a lush, storybook forest village rather than a specific historical era. Its tone is cheerful, warm, and playful, with a light comic energy that rewards both young viewers and parents. Fans of Bluey, Adventure Time and the original Smurfs cartoon will find familiar comfort in its colorful, character driven charm.
