## Synopsis

Anna is an Italian dystopian drama miniseries created by Niccolò Ammaniti for Sky Atlantic. Giulia Dragotto plays thirteen-year-old Anna Salemi, a Sicilian girl who must survive a viral contagion that has killed every adult on the island. Her engine is simple and urgent: she sets out across hostile terrain in search of her kidnapped brother, facing other children, shifting alliances and dangers that the collapsed adult world has left behind. Alessandro Pecorella appears as Astor, one of the figures she encounters along the way. The series unfolds over six episodes of roughly fifty-six minutes each, a single continuing journey rather than a case-of-the-week format. Set on a Sicilian island in an unspecified near-present, it carries a bleak, eerie atmosphere tempered by a young protagonist's stubborn hope and tenderness. Its emotional register is intimate and melancholic, with moments of brutal violence. Fans of The Girl with All the Gifts, The Road and The Walking Dead will find resonance in its vision of childhood endurance after collapse. The miniseries offers a compact, atmospheric dystopia.
