## Synopsis

Drag Race España (2021-present) is a Spanish reality competition series created by RuPaul, Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, produced for WOW Presents Plus and Atresplayer. Adapted from RuPaul's Drag Race, it follows Spain's most talented drag queens as they compete to be crowned Spain's Next Drag Superstar. Supremme de Luxe presides as host and judge alongside judges Ana Locking, Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, who deliver sharp, witty critiques of each performance. The engine of each episode is a weekly challenge that tests runway looks, comedy, acting and lip synching, with contestants eliminated one by one until a winner is named. Guest judges appear as occasional special guests, adding star power to the panel. The show runs for six seasons and sixty-five episodes so far, with each season structured as a sequence of competitive episodes building toward a final. Its atmosphere is flamboyant, campy and celebratory, with glamour, camp and a supportive queer community at the center. Set in contemporary Spain, the series reflects the national drag culture and the Spanish language it brings to the franchise. Fans of RuPaul's Drag Race, Legendary and Pose will find resonance in its vibrant mix of performance art, competition and queer joy.
