## Synopsis

Witch Hunter Robin (2002) is a Japanese anime series produced by Sunrise and Bandai Visual and broadcast on TV Tokyo. It follows Robin Sena (voiced by Akeno Watanabe), a member of the STN-J organization that fights the harmful use of witchcraft by maintaining a database of witches, some born with the gene and others who carry it dormant and could awaken at any time. Robin's work puts her in pursuit of individuals whose powers may surface, and she works alongside colleagues including Amon (Takuma Takewaka) and Haruto Sakaki (Jun Fukuyama). Each episode builds around an investigation into a suspected witch, with the agency's methods and loyalties shadowing the hunt. The series runs for a single season of 26 episodes, with a continuing thread that pulls its episodes together. Its tone is suspenseful and noirish, with dark urban fantasy atmosphere and a sense of moral unease about who the organization chooses to target. Fans of Hellsing Ultimate, Noir and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex will find resonance in its blend of supernatural action and conspiratorial investigation.
