## Synopsis

Fleksnes fataliteter (1972-2003) is a Norwegian national-television sitcom series created by Bo Hermansson, Alan Simpson and Ray Galton for NRK1 and SVT1, adapted from the British Hancock's Half Hour scripts. Rolv Wesenlund plays Marve Fleksnes, a socially awkward, self-involved loner whose schemes and pretensions keep unraveling in everyday life, while Aud Schønemann plays Magnhild, the overbearing mother with whom he shares a home. Across seven seasons and fifty half-hour episodes, the engine of each story is a small social ambition colliding with routine: a plan to impress, a dispute over household habits, a reluctant encounter with neighbours. Episodes are self-contained, built around dry, deadpan dialogue and the comic friction of a mother and son who cannot quite stand each other yet cannot live apart. Set in a recognisably ordinary Norwegian milieu across the 1970s through the 1990s, the show carries a wry, understated, gently cringing tone. Fans of Hancock's Half Hour, Fawlty Towers and Only Fools and Horses will find resonance in its character-driven humour and its patience with human vanity.
