## Synopsis

The Evandro Case: A Devilish Plot (2021) is a Brazilian true crime miniseries created by Ivan Mizanzuk for Globoplay, a single nine-episode season built around a real investigation. It follows the disappearance of a boy in the Brazilian state of Paraná and the long, contested inquiry that followed, tracing how one missing-child case became tangled in rumor, official missteps and competing accounts. Each episode moves through interviews, case files and reconstructions, so the central engine is the search for what actually happened, with every answer raising new doubts. Set in the early 1990s in small coastal Paraná communities, the series keeps a somber, methodical register, with grief and institutional failure running beneath each revelation. Its restrained, document-driven approach will appeal to viewers who enjoy the slow unravelling of Making a Murderer, The Staircase and other real-life case docuseries, and to anyone drawn to Brazilian true crime at its most unsettling.
