## Synopsis

Queer You Are (2021) is a Spanish comedy-drama coming of age series created by Bob Pop for TNT España. Its semi autobiographical story follows a gay boy growing up in a village, and the title character is played across three ages: Gabriel Sánchez as the young child, Carlos González as the adolescent, and Bob Pop himself as the adult narrator. Candela Peña plays the boy's mother, Carlos Bardem plays his father, Miguel Rellán plays the grandfather, and Alba Flores plays Lola, all of whom shape the protagonist's search for his own identity. The engine of the series is the slow, awkward work of figuring out who he is in a small community that offers few models and little room for difference. Each of the six half-hour episodes moves through memories of school, family meals, friendships and first stirrings of desire, so the structure feels like a personal album rather than a plot-heavy saga. The series is set in contemporary Spain and follows a childhood and adolescence that unfold against provincial traditions and family expectations. Its tone is wry, tender and candid, mixing gentle humor with the ache of growing up different. Fans of Please Like Me, Heartstopper and Física o química will find resonance in its warmth, honesty and intimate family drama.
