## Synopsis

White Sands (2021-present) is a Danish crime drama series created by A. J. Kazinski for TV 2. Set in the Danish west coast tourist town of Hvide Sande, the story follows two police officers, Helene Falck (Marie Bach Hansen) and Thomas Beckmann (Carsten Bjørnlund), who are secretly sent in to solve the brutal murder of a young German surfer. Because nobody in the town trusts the police, the pair go undercover as a happily married couple from the big city, living among shopkeepers, holiday rentals and locals who watch every move. Michelle Dreyer Nielsen (Amanda Friis Jürgensen) and Thorbjørn Dreyer Nielsen (Bjarne Henriksen) are among the residents whose lives tangle with the investigation. The engine is the constant risk of exposure: every conversation is a test of the cover story, and each case in the two seasons is built from careful interviews, small-town secrets and the strain of a false domestic life. Across two seasons and fourteen episodes, the tone is tense and atmospheric, with a cold seaside melancholy and a sense of unease beneath the holiday cheer. Fans of Broadchurch, The Killing and The Bridge will find resonance in its slow burn dread and its bleak Scandinavian mood.
