## Synopsis

Family Law (2021-2026) is a Canadian legal drama series created by Susin Nielsen for Global TV. Jewel Staite stars as Abigail Abby Bianchi, a lawyer and recovering alcoholic who, as a condition of her probation, must take a job at her estranged father's firm, Svensson and Associates, in Vancouver. Zach Smadu plays Daniel Svensson and Genelle Williams plays Lucy Svensson, the half-siblings she has never met, while Victor Garber plays their father Harry Svensson and Lauren Holly plays Joanne Kowalski. Abby's push to rebuild her career and family takes the form of concrete family law files, including custody disputes, divorces and domestic disagreements, handled by a firm where every colleague is tangled in blood ties and old grudges. The show runs across four seasons of ten episodes each, mixing case-of-the-week structure with a continuing thread of family repair. Its tone is sharp, wry and warm, with moments of genuine tenderness about addiction, forgiveness and belonging. Fans of Better Call Saul, Suits and The Good Wife will find resonance in its legal setting and character-driven heart.
