## Synopsis

The Odyssey (1992-1994) is a Canadian-produced half-hour adventure-fantasy series for children, broadcast on CBC Television and created by Warren Easton and Paul Vitols. Jay Ziegler (Illya Woloshyn) leads a group of young companions, including Donna Archipenko, known as Alpha (Ashleigh Aston Moore), and Keith Haldane, known as Flash (Tony Sampson), through a magical world where no adults are present to guide them. Jay's mother Val Ziegler (Janet Hodgkinson) remains part of the family story, while the young cast meets odd inhabitants and faces recurring dangers as they search for a way forward. Each episode is a self-contained adventure built from quests, rivalries and encounters with strange creatures and factions, spread across three seasons of thirteen episodes each. The tone is wholesome and nostalgic, with a breezy sense of playful peril that suits young viewers. Its fantasy landscapes and youthful camaraderie give it the feel of early 1990s children's adventure television, a gentle counterpart to Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Sliders for fans of kid-centered magical journeys.
