## Synopsis

George Shrinks (2000-2004) is a Canadian-American animated children's series created by William Joyce's book and produced by Nelvana with Jade Animation, broadcast on TVOntario and PBS Kids. Ten-year-old George Bernard Shrinks (voiced by Tracey Moore) wakes one morning to find he has shrunk to three inches tall, and the engine of each episode is his effort to get through ordinary days at that scale. His friend Becky Lopez (Bryn McAuley) helps him navigate a world that suddenly towers over him, while his parents, Perdita Shrinks (Kathleen Laskey) and his musical father Harold Shrinks Sr. (Paul O'Sullivan), join in building the miniature machines that carry the family's adventures. The show runs three seasons across about sixty-seven half-hour episodes, mostly self-contained outings in which a household problem becomes an inventive quest. The tone is gentle, warm and playful, with a sense of small-scale wonder in which kitchens, yards and backyards feel vast. Its family-centered comedy rests on inventiveness and affection rather than peril, and fans of The Borrowers, Arthur and The Magic School Bus will find a similar mix of imaginative mini-scale play and everyday family warmth.
