## Synopsis

Mr. Corman (2021) is an American dramedy created by Joseph Gordon-Levitt for Apple TV. Gordon-Levitt stars as Josh Corman, a former musician with rock-star aspirations who now teaches fifth grade, and Arturo Castro plays Victor Morales, a fellow presence in his orbit. The engine of the series is Josh's quiet, persistent search for happiness and meaning amid the routines of classroom lessons, strained family ties with his mother, and the small absurdities of everyday life. Each of its ten half-hour episodes follows his anxious, detached attempts to find purpose while the world around him feels indifferent. The single season is a compact, self-contained run that stays close to Josh's point of view. Its tone is dreary and paranoid yet wry, with absurdist touches that keep the melancholy from becoming heavy. Set in present-day United States, the show sits in the tradition of quiet, character-driven comedies, and fans of Louie and Atlanta will find resonance in its blend of awkward humor and existential unease. Its mixed audience reception reflects a show that divides viewers over its deliberately bleak sense of humor.
