## Synopsis

Mad Men (2007-2015) is an American prestige period drama series created by Matthew Weiner for AMC. Jon Hamm plays Don Draper, a charismatic and secretive creative director at a Madison Avenue advertising firm, whose hidden past threatens his carefully polished life. Elisabeth Moss plays Peggy Olson, a junior copywriter climbing the ranks against the odds, while Vincent Kartheiser plays the scheming account executive Pete Campbell and January Jones plays Don's restless wife Betty. Across seven seasons the show moves at a measured pace through pitch meetings, client dinners, and office rivalries, with each episode built around the agency's campaigns and the private failings of its staff. Set in 1960s Manhattan, the series tracks a decade of social upheaval through the lives of people who sell dreams for a living. Its tone is stylized and provocative, with glossy mid-century surfaces concealing loneliness, infidelity, and ambition. Fans of Succession, The Crown, and Pan Am will find resonance in its polished period craft and its study of power and reinvention.
