## Synopsis

Fantasy Island (2021-2023) is a American contemporary anthology drama series created by Gene Levitt for FOX, a reimagining of the classic series. Roselyn Sánchez plays Elena Roarke, who oversees a mysterious island where guests arrive carrying a longing they cannot shake, and Kiara Barnes plays Ruby Akuda, a figure tied to the island's ongoing work. Across two seasons and 23 episodes, each hour is a self-contained story built around a different guest whose desire is granted in unexpected ways, pushing them toward a reckoning with what they truly want. The engine is the gap between the wish and the self, with each episode testing the cost of the request and the emotional reinvention that follows. The tone is wistful and provocative, mixing magical realism with sincere, character-driven drama that asks what if questions meant to linger. Fans of the original Fantasy Island, The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror will find a similar appetite for moral fable and uncanny premise. The show was canceled after its second season, leaving its overarching mythology unresolved.
