## Synopsis

The Cleaning Lady is a American network crime drama series created by Miranda Kwok for FOX. Élodie Yung plays Thony De La Rosa, a whip-smart doctor who comes to the United States for a medical treatment to save her ailing son, only to be pushed into hiding when the system fails her. Refusing to be beaten down or marginalized, she takes a job as a cleaning lady for a mob operation and starts playing the game by her own rules. Adan Canto plays Arman Morales, and Oliver Hudson plays Garrett Miller, both drawn into the tangle of casino money, blackmail and shifting loyalties. The engine of the show is Thony's need to protect her family while navigating a dangerous criminal world where every favor carries a price. Episodes are built around laundering schemes, FBI pressure and power struggles inside the crime organization, and the story moves forward across four seasons in a continuing serialized arc. Set in present day Las Vegas, the series carries a gritty, tense and propulsive tone, with flashes of defiant warmth in its portrait of an immigrant mother fighting for survival. Fans of Ozark and Breaking Bad will find resonance in its morally gray underworld and its outsider heroine who refuses to be broken.
