## Synopsis

The Pact (2021-2022) is a British crime drama series created by Pete McTighe for BBC One. Across two seasons of six episodes each, the story follows a close circle of family and friends whose loyalties collide once a dark secret threatens to surface. Heledd Gwynn plays Cat, Laura Fraser plays Anna Price, and Aneurin Barnard plays Jack Evans, with Julie Hesmondhalgh and Adrian Edmondson among the supporting cast. Rakie Ayola appears throughout as Christine Rees. The engine of the show is simple and relentless: each character must decide how far they will go to protect the people they love, and every attempt to bury the truth creates fresh exposure and new suspicion. Episodes are built around shifting alliances, tense confrontations and gradually revealed motives in ordinary domestic and town settings. The mood is taut and unsettling, with a steady undercurrent of paranoia and moral unease. Fans of Broadchurch and Big Little Lies will find resonance in its British small-community dread, its domestic secrets and its serialized mystery that rewards close attention to who knows what and when.
