## Synopsis

Twist of Fate (2021) is a Turkish romantic comedy-drama series created by Serdar Gözelekli for Kanal D. Ada, a young university student convinced that her women are doomed to be abandoned by their first loves, is played by Cemre Baysel as a determined heroine who refuses to accept her family's fate. When her classmate Rüzgar (İdris Nebi Taşkan), an Albanian student facing deportation, asks her to help, she agrees to a fake marriage, hoping his promised proposal on their anniversary will launch the real romance she has planned. Her plans collapse when he abandons her on that very anniversary, and she sets out to win him back, only for fate to place Bora (Aytaç Şaşmaz), a callous, self-righteous workaholic, into her path. The engine of the series is the push and pull between Ada's stubborn hopes and the walls Bora keeps around his heart, played out through campus life, family pressure and rival suitors. Told across a single season of seventeen episodes with a breezy, sentimental register, the show leans on warm comedy and melodramatic turns. Fans of Kara Sevda and The Proposal will find resonance in its blend of fake-relationship scheming and heartfelt Turkish romance.
