## Synopsis

Young Royals (2021-2024) is a Swedish national-television teen romance drama series created by Lisa Ambjörn, Lars Beckung and Camilla Holter for Netflix. Prince Wilhelm (Edvin Ryding) arrives at the prestigious boarding school Hillerska, where he struggles to live as an ordinary student while following his heart. His growing attraction to Simon Eriksson (Omar Rudberg) pulls him against the expectations of the royal family and the rigid social codes of the school. Around them, August Horn of Årnäs (Malte Gårdinger), Sara Eriksson (Frida Argento) and Felice Ehrencrona (Nikita Uggla) form a web of friendships, rivalries and loyalties that shape each episode. The series unfolds across three seasons of six episodes each, following one continuing storyline in which every choice carries social and public weight. Its tone is tender and sincere, with glossy, emotionally open romance balanced against the cool pressures of wealth and privilege. Viewers drawn to the lgbtq coming of age stories of Heartstopper or the privileged teen intrigue of Skam and Gossip Girl will find a similar appeal, though this series is darker and more morally tangled. The overall feel is romantic, bittersweet and intimate, set in contemporary Sweden.
