## Synopsis

Vampire Academy (2022) is a single-season American supernatural drama series created by Marguerite MacIntyre and Julie Plec for Peacock. Adapted from Richelle Mead's young adult novels, it follows Rose Hathaway (Sisi Stringer), a guardian in training, and her closest friend Vasilisa Dragomir (Daniela Nieves), a royal vampire whose bloodline sets her apart. Their friendship is tested as they prepare to finish their schooling and enter a glamorous, privilege-driven royal vampire society. Kieron Moore plays Dimitri Belikov, a guardian whose presence complicates their loyalties, while André Dae Kim and J. August Richards round out the principal cast. The engine of the show is the push and pull between duty and desire: each episode builds around training exercises, secret loyalties, and the constant danger of an institution that prizes bloodlines over people. Set in a remote, rigid boarding academy that feels both protective and claustrophobic, the ten-episode run has a glossy, melodramatic surface and a bittersweet undercurrent of longing. Its tone mixes teen romance with supernatural menace and a strong girl power streak. Fans of The Vampire Diaries, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Twilight will find resonance in its blend of vampire mythology, school life and loyal friendship.
