## Synopsis

Good Sam (2022) is an American network medical drama created by Katie Wech for CBS. Sophia Bush stars as Sam Griffith, a gifted heart surgeon who steps into the role of Chief of Surgery with real ambition and talent. Her plans are complicated when her renowned boss, Rob Griffith (Jason Isaacs), falls into a coma and later wakes up demanding to resume his duties. Sam is left supervising this brilliant but egotistical expert with a scalpel, a man who has never acknowledged her abilities. The engine of the thirteen-episode season is the friction of that reversed hierarchy, played out through complex surgical cases, boardroom maneuvering, and the personal stakes of a hospital where reputation and survival are tangled together. Each episode pairs operating-room tension with the quieter pressures of leadership, loyalty, and ambition. The tone is earnest and brisk, with bloody medical emergencies punctuating the office politics. Fans of Grey's Anatomy, The Good Doctor and The Resident will find a similar blend of hospital intensity and professional rivalry. The series was canceled after its single season, leaving its central power struggle open.
