## Synopsis

Nevertheless (2021) is a South Korean romance drama created by Kim Ga-ram and Jung Seo for JTBC. Adapted from a webtoon, this single-season run of ten episodes follows Yoo Na-bi (Han So-hee), a reluctant love cynic who gets pulled into a friends-with-benefits arrangement by the flirtatious art school classmate Park Jae-eon (Song Kang). Their on-again, off-again tension drives nearly every episode, as each keeps testing boundaries while protecting feelings they would rather not admit. Campus life provides the backdrop, with art studios, classmates and shifting social circles adding pressure to the pair's private entanglement. Yang Do-hyeok (Chae Jong-hyeop) and other classmates add rival attractions and romantic complications. The mood is intimate, restless and emotionally raw, with a youthful sense of longing and a lingering uncertainty about whether closeness can survive fear of getting hurt. Viewers who enjoy the emotional push and pull of Itaewon Class and Business Proposal, or the campus romance of Sweet Magnolias, will find a familiar kinship here. Its appeal lies in its candid look at first love and the ways young people talk themselves out of happiness.
