## Synopsis

The Midnight Club (2022) is an American horror drama series created by Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong for Netflix. Set in a hospice for terminally ill teenagers, the story follows Ilonka (Iman Benson), Kevin (Igby Rigney), and Anya (Ruth Codd) as members of an exclusive club that meets to tell scary stories. Their shared pact holds that the first member to die must send a sign from beyond the grave, and that promise pulls them into a suspenseful investigation of a haunted house tied to the facility. Each episode blends intimate confessions, personal histories, and eerie tales, so the mood shifts between quiet grief and creeping supernatural dread. Dr. Georgina Stanton (Heather Langenkamp) and the young patients' struggles with mortality keep the emotional stakes grounded. Running for a single season of ten roughly hour-long episodes, the show is a serialized, mystery-driven ghost story rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its gothic atmosphere, melancholic tone, and themes of mortality and friendship make it a fit for fans of The Haunting of Hill House and Are You Afraid of the Dark, and for viewers who want a mature, atmospheric horror series.
