## Synopsis

Generation 56k (2021) is an Italian Netflix romantic comedy-drama miniseries created by Francesco Capaldo and produced by Cattleya. Across eight short episodes of roughly thirty-three minutes each, the story follows Daniel Mottola (Angelo Spagnoletti) and Matilda Pastore (Cristina Cappelli), two thirty-somethings whose chance encounter sends their minds back to 1998, the year their teenage hormones kicked in and the internet arrived to change everything. Their adult lives are wrapped around the fumbling, tender teenage selves played by Alfredo Cerrone as Daniel and Azzurra Iacone as Matilda, while Gianluca Colucci as Luca Battaglia and Fabio Balsamo as Sandro Farina anchor the circle of friends. The engine is simple and charming: each episode trades between the present-day tangle of relationships and the clumsy schemes of adolescence, with dial-up modems, chat rooms and pre-smartphone courtship supplying both the comedy and the ache. The mood is wistful and warm, with a bittersweet undertow about how far youth drifts from the people it once shaped. Fans of Stranger Things, Sex Education and Atypical will find resonance in its nostalgic lens on growing up and its blend of humor and heartfelt romance.
