## Synopsis

Rookie Cops (2022) is a South Korean scripted drama created by Lee Ha-na for Disney+. Wi Seung-Hyun (Kang Daniel) enters the national Police University determined to follow in his father's footsteps, but his path grows crowded with obstacles once he becomes entangled with fellow student Go Eun-gang (Chae Soo-bin). Around them, classmates including Kim Tak (Lee Sin-young), Ki Han-na (Park You-na) and Woo Joo-young (Min Do-hee) push and pull at each other through training drills, rivalries and the everyday pressures of campus life. The engine of the series is a young man's ambition colliding with the demands of a rigid institution, as each episode tracks classroom exercises, physical tests and personal entanglements that test whether he can earn his place. Told as one continuing story across a single sixteen-episode season, the show plays out as a campus-set coming of age drama set in contemporary South Korea. Its register is earnest and youthful, with hopeful, wistful moments balancing the hardship of cadet life. Viewers who enjoy Police University, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth and Sky Castle will find a similar blend of institutional pressure, youthful romance and aspiration.
