## Synopsis

Welcome to Wrexham (2022-present) is an American documentary sports docuseries created for FX and distributed on Hulu and FXX. Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, appearing as themselves, take ownership of Wrexham AFC, the historic yet struggling football club of a working-class town in North Wales. The engine of the show is practical and emotional: the owners want to lift the club out of the lower leagues, while the players, supporters and local businesses face the everyday worries of a community that has long waited for good news. Each episode mixes match footage, boardroom planning and intimate sit-downs with fans, staff and players, so the season arc rises and falls with results and off-field setbacks. Now in its fifth season, the series has run as a steady, returning format with episodes built around campaigns and seasons. The tone is warm, self-deprecating and hopeful, with humor that never undercuts the genuine pride of the town. Fans of Drive to Survive, All or Nothing and Ted Lasso will find resonance in its underdog spirit, behind-the-scenes access and celebrity-meets-community charm, set against the Welsh football culture of Wrexham.
