## Synopsis

Invasion (2021-present) is an American science fiction drama series created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil for Apple TV. Golshifteh Farahani plays Aneesha Malik, a mother whose family is pulled into the chaos of an alien arrival, while Shioli Kutsuna as Mitsuki Yamato, Shamier Anderson as Trevante Cole and India Brown as Jamila Huston follow separate lives on other continents as the threat spreads. Episodes move in real time through five strangers trying to understand what is happening around them, and each thread is built from ordinary decisions: finding family, reaching safety, and piecing together fragments of information while the world around them fractures. The series runs three seasons and thirty episodes of roughly fifty-five minutes each, and it is one continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its tone is sombre and deliberately unhurried, with a glacial pace, wide global scale and a steady undercurrent of dread. Viewers who enjoy the global ensemble tension of The Expanse, the invasion dread of Battlestar Galactica and the spectacle of Independence Day will find a grounded, slower take on first contact that favors atmosphere and human fear over action set pieces.
