## Synopsis

Police University (2021) is a South Korean crime comedy miniseries created by Min Jung for KBS2 and wavve. Across sixteen one-hour episodes, a young hacker who has never wanted much from life enrolls at a police academy to figure himself out, and ends up helping a veteran cop take down a gambling ring. Cha Tae-hyun plays Yoo Dong-man, the cop at the center of the story, while Jung Jin-young plays Kang Seon-ho and Krystal Jung plays Oh Kang-hee among the principal cast. The engine is the odd-couple pairing of a rootless trainee and a seasoned officer, with each case built from the cadets' training exercises and a gambling operation the pair must infiltrate. The series is a single continuous story across one season, playing its investigation as breezy, lightly comic crime with warmth between its characters. Its tone blends irreverent humor with sincere father and son style bonding and teamwork among students. Fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Psych and Confidential Assignment will find similar comic crime energy and cop-student chemistry here, set in contemporary South Korea.
