## Synopsis

The War Next-door (Guerra de vecinos, 2021-2022) is a Mexican satirical comedy series created by Carolina Rivera and Fernando Sariñana and released on Netflix. Two antagonistic families find themselves living next door to each other in a posh neighborhood, and the matriarchs Leonor (Vanessa Bauche) and Silvia (Ana Layevska) lead a full-scale domestic war in which every petty move produces a bigger and more absurd consequence. Ernesto (Mark Tacher), Crista (Loreto Peralta) and Tomas (Christian Vazquez) are drawn into the escalating conflict, while Tere (Elyfer Torres) and Genaro (Pascacio López) add further friction. Each episode is built from a fresh scheme, a backfire and a counterattack, so the rivalry keeps growing through a single continuing storyline across two seasons of eight episodes each. The series plays its upper class vanity and status anxieties for sharp, broad laughs, with a brisk, slightly mischievous tone and a glossy, affluent backdrop. Fans of Desperate Housewives and Big Little Lies will find resonance in its blend of suburban rivalry and biting social observation, though its mood is far more farcical than either. Its run ended before the story was resolved, so the feud remains open at the close.
