## Synopsis

Uncle from Another World (2022-2023) is a Japanese animated isekai parody comedy series created for AT-X and produced by Atelier Pontdarc. The story follows Takafumi, a young man whose middle-aged uncle wakes from a seventeen-year coma speaking an unrecognizable language and wielding magic. Voiced by Jun Fukuyama as Takafumi and Takehito Koyasu as the Uncle, the show builds its comedy from the gap between the uncle's fantasy-world competence and the mundane demands of modern Japanese life. Takafumi's friends and relatives, voiced by Mikako Komatsu as Fujimiya and Haruka Tomatsu as Elf, are pulled into the chaos alongside him. The engine of each short episode is the uncle's deadpan, absurdly capable reactions to everyday situations, with slapstick and genre parody driving the laughs. Across a single thirteen-episode season, the series keeps a brisk, breezy rhythm, mocking isekai conventions while staying warm toward its family core. Its tone is irreverent yet affectionate, closer to the gentle absurdity of Konosuba and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation than to darker fantasy. Fans of isekai parody and short slapstick anime comedy will find resonance here.
