## Synopsis

The Chestnut Man is a Danish nordic noir crime series that follows detectives Naia Thulin and Mark Hess as they investigate grisly murders where a small figurine made of chestnuts is left at each scene. Their hunt for the killer moves through Danish forests and political circles, tied to the disappearance of a politician's child. The story unfolds as a serialized police investigation, with the detectives pursuing leads that carry them deep into a grim, unsettling world. Fans of The Killing, The Bridge and The Snowman will find resonance in its brooding atmosphere, psychological dread and procedural rigor. The tone is bleak and tense, with domestic abuse and brutality shadowing the investigation, and the series rewards close attention to clues and character. Emotional weight comes from the parents whose grief drives the search, and from the detectives whose private lives bleed into their work. Dark and methodical, it favors atmosphere and slow-building suspense over spectacle, making it absorbing for viewers who enjoy patient mysteries with a cold, haunting edge throughout.
