## Synopsis

Class of '09 (2023) is an American science fiction mystery miniseries created by Tom Rob Smith for Hulu. Kate Mara plays FBI agent Ashley Poet, a member of a class of agents whose careers are tangled with Brian Tyree Henry as Tayo Michaels and Sepideh Moafi as Hour Nazari, as the American criminal justice system is reshaped by artificial intelligence. The eight-episode story moves across three points in time, so each hour braids an earlier investigation, the present day and a near-future dystopia where automated systems help decide who counts as a suspect. Its engine is a procedural question with personal stakes: what agents owe a system that is learning to do their work, and what is lost when judgment is handed to software. Episodes shift between tense interrogations, surveillance-heavy offices and bleak civic unrest, giving the show a cold, paranoid and morally uneasy register. Viewers who enjoyed the predictive dread of Minority Report, the surveillance paranoia of Person of Interest and the near-future unease of Black Mirror will find a similar pull here, with a sharp, structurally ambitious take on law enforcement and technology.
