## Synopsis

CHIVAS: El Rebaño Sagrado (2021) is a Mexican sports documentary docuseries produced for Prime Video. Across four episodes it follows one season of the Chivas of Guadalajara, one of Mexico's most popular soccer clubs, as the team tries to resurrect a legendary franchise after a string of devastating losses. Viewers spend time with players such as Ricardo Peláez, Luis Fernando Tena, Antonio Briseño and Cristian Calderón, alongside figures like club owner Amaury Vergara and Jorge Vergara, as the pressure of the club's history weighs on every match. The engine of the series is the gap between a proud institution and its recent failures, shown through training sessions, locker room tension, boardroom decisions and matchday emotion. Its single season arc is told in a documentary register that favors access and candor over spectacle. The tone is earnest, tense and affectionate toward the fans who make the club a national symbol. Fans of Formula 1: Drive to Survive and The Last Dance will find resonance in its behind the scenes access and its portrait of a team carrying a legacy.
