## Synopsis

Mohanagar (2021-2023) is a Bangladeshi crime thriller series created by Ashfaque Nipun for hoichoi. Its two seasons, seventeen episodes in total, are built around a single fateful night at a police station in Dhaka, where a motley crowd of criminals, an eminent industrialist, journalists and ordinary members of the public are pulled into the same tense space. Harun Ur Rashid (Mosharraf Karim) and Afnan Chowdhury (Shamol Mawla) anchor the story as the central figures whose paths collide as the hours unfold. Supporting roles from Khairul Basar as Abir, Mostafizur Noor Imran as Moloy Kumar, Zakia Bari Mamo as Shahana Huda and Nishat Priom as Rumana Malik widen the web of loyalties and secrets. The engine of the series is the pressure of a long night in which every character wants something from the station and each choice ripples outward through the city. Its parallel threads intercut the police station with the newsrooms and streets beyond it, and the drama turns on corruption, power, justice and class divide. The atmosphere is gripping and morally grey, with suspense and dark humour threading through the story. Fans of 24, The Wire and Sacred Games will find resonance in its urgent crime drama and its portrait of institutions under strain.
