## Synopsis

The Boss (2022-present) is an Argentine dark comedy drama series created by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat for Disney+ and Star+. Guillermo Francella plays Eliseo, the superintendent of an upscale Buenos Aires apartment building who presents a cordial, docile face to the world while privately seeing himself as the omnipotent figure of the community. Gabriel Goity plays Matías Zambrano, and Darío Barassi plays Gabriel, two other principal figures whose dealings orbit the building's daily affairs. The engine of the show is Eliseo's determination to protect his job when a proposed pool project threatens his position, and each episode is built from his meddling in residents' lives and his quiet maneuvers to keep his grip on the building. The show runs across four seasons of short episodes, a continuing story in which the same cast and location carry the escalating schemes forward. Its tone is sardonic and deadpan, with satire of petty authority, class anxiety, and the vanity of small power. Fans of The Office (UK), Succession and Little Monsters will find resonance in its mix of awkward comedy and morally corrosive ambition, set in a contemporary Buenos Aires where the building becomes a miniature kingdom.
