## Synopsis

Bellas artes (2024-present) is a Spanish-Argentine satirical comedy series created by Andrés Duprat, Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat. Oscar Martínez plays Antonio Dumas, a prestigious but cynical and conceited art historian who wins a contest to become director of an important museum of modern art in Madrid. Ángela Molina plays Mariel, and Ana Wagener plays the Ministra, while Dani Rovira and José Sacristán round out the principal cast. Antonio's engine is simple and sharp: he wants to run his museum with cultural prestige and intellectual control, but union disputes, political pressure and the eccentric fauna of the art world keep pulling him off course. Each thirty-minute episode is built around a new knot of trouble, from a labor standoff to a surreal exhibition gone wrong to an artist who refuses to behave. The show runs for two seasons of twelve episodes in total, with a dry, deadpan register and a relentless mockery of pretension. Fans of The Thick of It, The Office and Succession will find resonance in its cutting institutional satire, its bureaucratic farce and its affectionate contempt for powerful people who take themselves far too seriously.
