## Synopsis

Pancho Villa: The Centaur of the North (2023) is a Mexican historical drama series created by Rafael Lara Ruiz for Star+. Spanish-language and built around a single ten-episode season, it follows Jorge A. Jimenez as Pancho Villa, born Doroteo Arango, whose life begins on the wrong side of the law and grows into that of a feared commander during the Mexican Revolution. The engine of the story is his fixation on his own myth: he wants to be a larger-than-life figure, and each episode tracks how his efforts to build that image shape the wider conflict while drawing vengeful and powerful enemies around him. Supporting principals include Juan Luis Medina as Carlos Jauregui, Leonardo Alonso as Rodolfo Fierro, and Andrés Montiel as Felipe Ángeles, whose alliances and rivalries fuel the campaigns. Set in revolutionary Mexico in the 1910s, the series moves between dusty battlefields, military camps and political backroom plotting. Its tone is gritty and fierce, with violent set pieces balanced against a restless, ambitious portrait of a man who cannot separate the legend from the life. Viewers who enjoy Narcos for its charismatic outlaw protagonist and sweeping historical stakes, or Chernobyl for its grounded reconstruction of a turbulent historical crisis, will find resonance here.
